Our Guests!

We have a friend from church that is an international student from Iran.  Two of his family members are visiting for two weeks.  They are staying with us to help cut the costs of their trip.  Here they are crammed in the back of our tiny car.
Saturday night they took us out to an Iranian restaurant.  It was a real treat!  Lydia ate a lot of my dinner.  I guess she is a fan of Iranian food.
Here is our friend from church.  He was determined to become buddies with Lydia.  She was shy at first, but she has grown to find him silly and fun to be around.
Lydia played with sunglasses to keep her occupied until the food arrived.
I think she knows she is cute.  This could be a real problem someday. :)
Our guests do not speak English very well.  However, they are patient and willing to work to communicate.  They are very polite and nice to have around.  They go out sight seeing all day and return with gifts for us.  They are very generous and grateful to be staying with us.
We found out Lydia has a love for Ranch dip.  She licks the dip off the carrot and waits for some more.
Easter Sunday we asked our guests to join us for church.  They are so polite I was afraid they would feel obligated.  But they said they wanted to go with us.  After the service Mosin, the man, said he really liked the church service and would want to attend regularly if they lived here.  They also spoke to a business man in the church about starting a business here.  They are thinking of moving their family to this country.  They really like it here.

Easter Sunday after our dinner celebration with our team, we returned to our apartment to be with our guests.  They continued their sight seeing in the afternoon and were back.  We were able to use our friend as a translator and talk more in depth about stuff.  Micah started to discuss what we were singing and what the preacher spoke about that morning.
Our friend from church is a convert.  He has not been a Christian long.  He has many questions.  This time with his family has been really great for our relationship with him.

Late Sunday night they decided to cook us an Iranian meal.  I stayed home to put Lydia to bed, while everyone else went to the store next door to buy food to prepare.  We ate 'supper' at 10 p.m.  This is normal in so many cultures, but not mine.  It was wonderful!  Nooshin, the wife, cut fresh onions, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes to prepare supper for us.  It was delightful.  They tend to put mayo on everything.  I opted out of that one.  Micah raved over the meat.  I tried to explain that where I come from if you cook someone else cleans up.  But she was firm and would not let me clean up in the kitchen.  It was nice to be taken care of so well.
